India: Tata Steel BSL iron ore sourcing down 31% in FY’21

Tata Steel BSL- a major integrated steelmaker with a capacity of 5.6 mn t has recorded iron ore sourcing at 3.5 mn t in FY’21. The sourcing witnessed a fall of 31% as against 5.064 mnt t in FY’20. The steelmaker procured 3.32 mn t of iron ore in FY’21 from Tata Steel’s captive mines as against 3 mn t in FY’20. Apart from it, the steelmaker also procured iron ore from OMC, etc. The mill also procured pellets from the merchant market however those figures are not included in the above-mentioned sourcing.
