In a confirmed deal, 6000tonne RB2 grade coal has been traded at INR 6,840/t ex-Vizag, bringing the difference between Vizag and Gangavaram port price to INR 450/t. The notable price difference between both the ports (which usually is quite competitive) can be attributed to the variance in the calorific value of the coal being sold at both the ports. While at Gangavaram, less CV (<5000 NAR) is being sold at INR 6,350/t, 5500 NAR coal at Vizag port is being traded at INR 6,840/t, informed market participants.
