Russia’s Severstal reports increase in steel production and sales in Q1 ’21

Russia’s integrated steel producer – PAO Severstal has released its operational figures for the first quarter of CY ’21. Let’s take a look at the key highlights:

• Crude steel production increased by 7% q-o-q to 2.96 mn t
• Steel product sales stood at 2.63 mn t, higher by 8% q-o-q
• Hot metal production increased by 12% q-o-q to 2.67 mn t
• Share of export shipments increased to 52% from 35% in Q4 ’20, due to the more favourable export price dynamics and higher demand.
