Tata Metaliks has raised basic (steel) grade pig iron price by INR 900/t for Apr ’21 deliveries. The current offer for low silicon (1-1.5%) pig iron is reported at INR 40,100/t ($540) & foundry grade pig iron at INR 42,000/t ($573). The price is ex- plant, Kharagpur and is applicable for Kolkata and Howrah market. The price hike was the result of increasing steel & substitute product prices along with hike in pig iron prices by private producers.
