Bulk ferrous scrap import in India has shown a downtrend in FY’21 and stood at 0.18 mn t against 0.31 mn t in FY’20 as per the data maintained with SteelMint. Preference to domestic substitutes like scrap and sponge iron on competitive offers limited imports.
