- Freight traffic handled by 12 major Indian ports contracted by around 5% y-o-y to 672.61 mn t during the last fiscal year, the data by Indian Ports Association (IPA) showed.

- Deendayal port handled the highest traffic in FY ’21 at 117.56 mn t, followed by Paradip port at 114.55 mn t.
- Ports’ freight traffic increased for the fifth consecutive month in Mar ’21, rising by 16.4%, the largest in at least a year.
