Chinese domestic billet prices rise by RMB 10 ($1.5)

Today the billet prices in the Tangshan market (northeast China) witnessed a further rise of RMB 10 ($1.5) against yesterday. The billet transactions were moderate, while finished steel posed an upward trend. The prices of commonly traded Q235 billet 150mm diameter were reported at RMB 4,800/t ($732/t) in Tangshan, including 13 % VAT. Prices are now hovering at 12.5 year high levels due to imposed production restrictions on environmental concerns.
