Vietnam’s Hoa Phat to raise capacity at Dung Quat steel plant by 5.6 mn t

Vietnam’s leading steel-maker, Hoa Phat Group, plans to expand its existing plant at Dung Quat in central Vietnam as early as 2022. The expansion is projected to raise total capacity by 5.6 mn t/year, with 4.6 mn t of hot rolled coil and the rest comprising long steel products such as bar and wire. The current capacity of the Dung Quat plant is 5 mn t, while Hoa Phat’s total capacity stands at 8 mn t per annum.
