Melting scrap prices today shot up by around INR 500-600/t in major locations in India on account of improved sponge iron and semi-finished steel prices. The same in the Southern region remained supported as anticipated by SteelMint. In the Northern region, limited transactions were witnessed owing to nationwide protests.
