Chinese Manganese ore imports decline by 16% in Feb ’21

According to Chinese customs, manganese ore imports decreased by 16.23% m-o-m in Feb ’21, The major reasons behind this are:

• Low availability of containers.
• Reduced production and dispatches from South Africa owing to heavy rains in Dec ’20.
• Increased prices of manganese ore by the major miners.
• High inventory at ports that curbed the Chinese buying interest.
