India: JSPL sets steel production record of 16,020 t in a single day at Angul plant

Integrated steel producer Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) achieved the highest ever steel production of 16,020 t in a single day on 22 Mar ’21, as per a Twitter post. The total production is equivalent to 66 heats at JSPL’s 6 mn t/year steel plant at Angul, with 44 heats from a single converter. SteelMint has reported JSPL’s steel output increasing by 18% in Feb ’21 to 0.653 mn t compared to 0.554 mn t in Feb ’20.
