VISA steel joins a very selected band of primary steel producers with facilities of an integrated steel plant, approved by POWERGRID or supply of Mild Steel (MS) & High Tensile (HT)’Blooms as per IS specification. It may be mentioned that these Blooms are further rolled by the POWERGRID approved re-rollers into structural. These are used in making Transmission Line Towers for transmission & distribution of power. This would enable the POWERGRID approved re-rollers in making structure for fabrication of Tower for POWERGRID project.
VISA Steel, a primary steel producer, is currently operating the state of the art 0.5 MnT pa integrated special steel plant within house facilities. It uses Iron ore for iron making, steel melting, refining, Billet/Bloom casting and rolling into various long products such as Bars, Wire Rods, TMT Re-bar, Angles, etc.
POWERGRID, on the basis of recommendation of its approved re-rollers follows a very rigorous process of inspection and assessment by the POWERGRID Assessment Committee. The committee will visit steel plant works, verify & audit necessary documents and technical parameters and also undertake test rolling into structural in its presence of Billet manufactured by the steel company at its approved re-rollers. Only, when it is fully satisfied in all respects, POWERGRID approves and gives such certification.
VISA Steel had earlier supplied successfully MS and particularly HT Billet/Bloom to various re-rollers and tower manufacturer across the country in good quantities. Based on the excellent quality performance of its Billet/Bloom, POWERGRID re-rollers approached POWERGRID for empanelling Visa Steel for supply of MS & HT Billet/Blooms.
The approved by POWERGRID has sent cheers across the re-rollers since there are very few high quality primary steel producers of As Cast MS & HT Billet/Bloom with Aluminum Killed steel. With this Visa Steel has joined the top Primary and Integrated Steel producers in the country.
