The Chinese steel imports reported a rise of 17.4% during Jan-Feb ’21 to reach 2.4 mn t. The hike was primarily due to the active restocking activities during the period, which boosted after the Chinese new year holidays. Robust demand pushed domestic steel prices, which created room for imports.
