SAIL conducted an auction for 8,550 t (2,850 t x 3 rakes) of basic grade pig iron on 03 Mar ’21 from its Bokaro Steel Plant, Jharkhand. Out of three rakes auctioned, only two rakes (5,700 t) received bids at INR 34,000/t exw, sources reported to SteelMint. Bids inched up by INR 850/t as compared to the previous auction conducted on 24th Feb in which two rakes of pig iron were booked at INR 33,150/t exw. Private pig iron manufacturers have been raising offers which has resulted in an increase in bids in today’s auction.
