India’s total Coking Coal imports raise by 16.5% to about 1.03 MnT during the week ended on 22 Mar, 2014.
At the end of week 12, India has imported around 1.03 MnT Coking Coal, assessed by SteelMint. Total imported quantity has decreased from 0.83 MnT of preceding week. India’s weekly import comprises 25% Coking Coal, comes from different destination.
The week ended on 22 Mar 2014, India has imported total quantity from Australia & USA, the major suppliers of Coking Coal. Out of the weekly imports, India imported around 0.96 MnT from Australia and registered a jump of 20.5% against the prior week. About 0.07 MnT imported from USA at Haldia & Paradip port belongs to SAIL.
Dhamra port has imported highest quantity i.e. around 0.32 MnT of Coal. Whole quantity belongs to SAIL & Tata Steel as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. The second highest quantity port was Marmugao imported around 0.17 MnT, belongs to JSW Steel & SESA.
SAIL & JSW Steel are the major importers of Coking Coal at the end of week 12 and imported around 0.43 MnT & 0.17 MnT respectively. Tata Steel has imported around 0.17 MnT Coal from Australia at Dhamra & Haldia port.
The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal.
