Japan’s leading EAF mill – Tokyo Steel has today announced its sixth scrap purchase price hike. Prices for all five works by JPY 500/t ($5). After today’s revision, the company would pay JPY 40,000/t ($379) for H2 scrap delivered at all its three works – Tahara, Utsunomiya, and Okayama plant. Prices at its Utsunomiya works in Kanto have climbed to one-month high.
