The government has approved the construction of 56,368 new houses under the Prime Minister’s ‘Housing for All’ (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna-Urban) scheme, a statement from the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs informs. More than 73 lakh houses have been grounded till date and close to 43 lakh have been completed. Much like the INR 111 lakh crore National Infrastructure Pipeline, the government’s housing scheme is expected to boost demand for steel in the coming days.
