Turkey: Ferrous scrap imports up by 18% y-o-y in CY ’20

Turkey- the world’s largest ferrous scrap importer, witnessed a trend of gradually increasing scrap imports throughout the year, finishing the year with total imports at 22.18 mn t, up by 18% y-o-y as per data recorded with SteelMint.

USA remained largest scrap supplier to Turkey in CY ’20 at 4.37 mn t (up by 18% y-o-y), followed by Netherlands at 3.18 mn t and Russia at 2.29 mn t (both up by 22% y-o-y) in CY ’20
