India Imported 0.83 MnT Coking Coal Last Week

Week 11India’s total Coking Coal imports declined by 16.5% to about 0.83 MnT during the week ended on 15 Mar, 2014.

At the end of week 11, India has imported around 0.83 MnT Coking Coal, assessed by SteelMint. Total imported quantity has decreased from 0.99 MnT of preceding week. India’s weekly import comprises of 22% Coking comes from different destination.

The week ended on 15 Mar 2014, India has imported total quantity from Australia & Mozambique, the major suppliers of Coking Coal. Out of the weekly imports, India imported around 0.80 MnT from Australia and registered a jump of 16% against the prior week. About 0.30 MnT imported from Mozambique at Gangavaram port belongs to JSPL.

Mundra port has imported highest quantity i.e. around 0.16 MnT of Coal. Whole quantity belongs to Jindal Saw as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. The second highest quantity port was Paradip, imported around 0.15 MnT that belongs to SAIL & Visa Suncoke.

SAIL & Jindal Saw are the major importers of Coking Coal at the end of week 11 and imported around 0.28 MnT& 0.16 MnT respectively. Tata Steel has imported around 0.14 MnT Coal from Australia at Dhamra port.

The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag & Karaikal.
