Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd has started dispatches of pig iron from VSL Steel’s pig iron plant, which the former had acquired last year, credible sources reported to SteelMint. The pig iron plant has a mini blast furnace with an annual production capacity of 144,000 t, equivalent to 12,000 t/month. With this plant, Kirloskar Ferrous would supply about 40,000-45,000 t pig iron on a monthly basis in the spot market.
