South African RB2 coal portside trades stagnate amid buyer-seller stand-off

Portside trades for RB2 (5500 NAR) coal at Ganagavram port have turned quiet as buyers and sellers are unable to reach a consensus, market participants informed. While buyers are not showing interest above INR 5,200-5,300/t, sellers are not ready to go below INR 5,500/t. With sufficient stock at port and increased availability of domestic coal, it has turned into a buyer’s market despite no S.African coal vessel coming at Gangavaram port between 1-10 Feb.
