Melting scrap prices fluctuated by INR 100-500/t, varying from region to region. In the Northern region, prices inched up by INR 100-200/t due to supply shortage whereas prices in Western and Southern region declined owing to falling semi-finished steel prices and poor procurement in finished steel. Near term prices may remain range-bound and no major contractions are expected to be seen in scrap prices specifically for the Alang market, trade channels reported to SteelMint.
