India's Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) import drastically down in May'13

May'13: India imports Hot Briquetted iron (HBI) drastically down by 53% to 34,800 MT against 74,300 MT in the previous month.

According to data released by Indian custom;

India import HBI mostly from UAE, Oman and Malaysia with an average quantity of 55,000 MT per month but in the month of May only qty 34,800 MT is being imported.

Major qty of 24,000 MT that has been imported is from UAE to Magdalla (India) port and 4,300 MT to JNPT (India). Similarly 6,500 MT from Russia is to Kandla (India) port.

Half yearly India Import HBI (Qty in Metric ton) is as follow:

May'13:  Qty 34,800 MT. From UAE: 28,300 MT  and Others: 6,500 MT

April'13:  Qty 74,300 MT. From Oman: 47,500 MT, UAE: 25,000 MT  and Others: 1,800 MT

March'13: Qty 76,100 MT. From Oman: 53,000 MT and Others: 23,100 MT

Feb'13: Qty 65,600 MT. From Malaysia: 44,000 MT and Others : 21600 MT

Jan'13: Qty 75,000 MT. From Oman: 53,300 MT and Others: 21,700 MT

Dec'12: Qty 49,100 MT. From Malaysia: 41,600 MT and Others: 7,500 MT
