India: Automobile exports decline by 19% y-o-y in CY’20

Overseas shipments vehicles in CY’20 stood at 38,65,138 units, down by 19% against 47,63,960 units in CY’19, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM). The drop in automobile exports was mainly due to the dip in overseas shipments of passenger vehicles (PVs), which fell by 39% last year at 4,28,098 units compared to 7,06,159 units in CY’19. Meanwhile, two-wheelers, three-wheelers and commercial vehicles exports from India also suffered a dip of 13%, 28% and 37% respectively.
