Chinese steel exports increase 10% m-o-m in Dec ’20

Chinese steel exports increased by 10.18% m-o-m to 4.85 mn t in Dec ’20 against 4.4 mn t in Nov ’20, according to the data by General Administration of Customs, China. Reduced competition from other exporting countries like India, Russia, South Korea and Japan since Aug ’20 has kept the Chinese export volumes high in CY ’20. Steel exports in CY ’20 totaled 53.6 mn t, falling 16.5% over CY ’19.
