Indian Billet manufacturers have increased export offer over good demand from neighboring countries. Raw material prices remain range bound in Feb & Mar’14.
Eastern India (mainly Durgapur) manufacturers confirmed that export quantity of Mild Steel Billet is on continuous rise from Jan’14 onward.
As per Exporters, “Currently, Billet manufacturers are offering the material at around INR 30,700-30,800/MT (USD 495-497/MT) on Ex-Durgapur basis and INR 29,800-30,000/MT (USD 480-483/MT) Rourkela Ex-Plant.”
Exporters also confirmed that most of the material from East India is being sold to Nepal & Bangladesh, whereas Welspun, a manufacturer based in West India will supply Billet to Middle East countries. As per the sources, the company has made a deal with Qatar at USD 533-535 CFR; 5,000 MT to be ship in March, 2014.
On the other side, offers for Billet manufactured in India are hovering at around INR 29,500-33,500/MT (USD 475-540/MT) on Ex-works basis.
