Baosteel, one of the largest producers of Stainless steel has increased the purchase price of HC ferrochrome in Jan ’21 by 200 yuan/t to 6,000 yuan/t ($918.41/t) for HC 50% min, delivered including tax. This announcement came after Tsingshan also lowered its prices by 200 yuan/t. The increase in price by the mills can be attributed to tight supply of ferrochrome in China.
