Electrosteel Steels, an integrated steel plant located in Bokaro (Jharkhand), eastern India, has concluded a tender for 1,500 steel grade pig iron at around INR 34,300-500/t exw, sources have reported SteelMint. Bids remained stable compared to the previous auction held by the plant for 500 t. Meanwhile, SAIL’s pig iron auction held yesterday for 5,700 t (2,850 t x 2 rakes) basic grade from Bokaro Steel Plant closed at INR 33,350 /t exw. Pig iron prices are on the ascendant due to stiff iron ore and ferrous scrap prices.
