Benchmark sponge iron (P-DRI) prices, today fell by INR 100/t to INR 26,000/t exw Raipur (central India) due to limited trades. Local plants in Raipur have floated offers at INR 26,300-500/t exw, while a few deals have been reported at around INR 26,000/t exw & FoR basis from Raigarh. Industry sources reported that sponge prices may get revised soon in the association’s meeting. Expectations are high that prices may increase despite limited trades on prevailing offers.
