Gujarat-based Mono Steel India Ltd has planned to shut-down its steel & power plant for regular maintenance & as per officials the operations and dispatches are likely to be resumed from 31 Dec ’20. The company is one of the major induction grade billet suppliers in the Indian domestic market. Hence, the shutdown may impact billet supplies in the local market which may, in turn, lead to a strengthening of prices, if demands remains supported. The company has a 12 MW power plant, 0.75 mn t melting capacity and a rolling capacity of 0.22 mn t pa.
