India: APL Apollo raises pipe price by INR 2,000 ($27) in fourth straight hike

The largest producer of structural steel tubes in India – APL Apollo Tubes Limited, has increased pipe price by INR 2,000/t to INR 55,000/t ($747) FoR in Chhattisgarh effective from today. This is the fourth price hike made by the company in Dec ’20. Meanwhile, the current offer for base grade (25-125 NB, 2.2-8mm thickness) stands at INR 57,250/t (exy-Mumbai) and 57,000/t (exy-Delhi). Following a hike in raw material costs, the company is likely to raise pipe prices by INR 1,000/t on 1st Jan ’21, sources reported to SteelMint.
