Japan’s leading electric-arc steel manufacturer- Tokyo Steel, after a delay, announced a JPY 10,000/t ($97) price hike in its steel products for Jan ’21 delivery. Firm overseas steel prices amid supply concerns and the rising cost of production stood as the lead factors behind the price hike. The company’s rebar offers now stand at JPY 73,000/t ($706) and that of H-beam at JPY 93,000/t ($899) for Jan ’21 deliveries.
