Mid-scale rolling mills in Raipur, Chhattisgarh have significantly hiked rebar offers by INR 1,500/t d-o-d after yesterday’s meeting. The current offer for 10-25mm rebar stands at INR 43,000/t which is an all-time high, as per data maintained by SteelMint since Sep ’10. Healthy transactions and significant hike in raw material prices is creating pressure on mills’ owners to match the ranges and improve margins.
