A crude oil pipeline project is proposed from Crude Oil Terminal (COT) at Mundra, Gujarat to HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL) Refinery at Barmer, Rajasthan. The refinery complex is designed to process a mix of Rajasthan and Arab mix crude oil of around 98,000 – 99,000 t (API 5L X-70 grade pipes) quantity. In future, it is proposed to expand the refinery capacity from 9 to 18 mn t pa. The due date for bid for this tender is end of Dec ’20 and reverse auction is likely to take place in Mar ’21. This project is expected to contribute to Rajasthan’s economic development and aid in the development of downstream petrochemical companies.
