India: Melting scrap prices rise on tighter availability

Steel melting scrap prices increased by INR 100-500/t d-o-d in major consuming markets particularly in northern and southern India, on tighter availability. In western region, prices were supported by healthy future bookings in semi-finished and finished steel, as per daily SteelMint assessment. Trade participants expect prices to remain supported for the near term, considering uptrend in imported scrap prices.
