Induction grade billet prices in southern, western & northern India have hit record high following rally in global scrap prices and strengthening sponge iron prices. In Chennai & Ahmedabad, prices touched its highest level since the data maintained by SteelMint from Oct’10 & Aug’13, respectively. Sources expect prices to remain strong due to rising global scrap prices along with average demand for finished steel.
