Tata Metaliks has raised basic (steel) grade pig iron price by INR 400/t & foundry grade by INR 500/t ($7) for Dec ’20 deliveries. The current offer for low silicon (1-1.5%) pig iron is reported at INR 31,700/t ($430) & foundry grade pig iron at INR 33,700/t ($456), ex-plant, Kharagpur, eastern India. The prices surged on account of increasing steel & substitute product prices along with pig iron prices by private producers. The company has a hot metal capacity of 5,50,000t p.a.
