Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML), one of the major Indian pig iron producers, has concluded a tender for a rake of foundry grade pig iron at around INR 35,300/t FoR Phillaur siding. Another auction for one rake of base grade (Si 1-1.5%) has been concluded at INR 33,500/t FoR Batala (Punjab), market sources reported to SteelMint. TML has a hot metal capacity of 5.5 lakh tonne p.a., of which 2 lakh tonne is used for DI pipe production and about 3.5 lakh tonne is converted into pig iron. Current offer of foundry grade pig iron is hovering at INR 35,600-800/t FoR Ludhiana.
