According to statistics received from Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), the information of mining leases for Iron ore approved to Private & Public sector during the last three fiscal years, also including the current fiscal year are mentioned.
As per the provisions of the Mines & Minerals (Development & Regulation) (MMDR) Act 1957, the state government are empower to grant mining leases for all minerals. However, previous approval of the Central Government requires for approving mineral concessions in respect of minerals specified in Parts ‘B’ & ‘C’ of the First Schedule to the MMDR Act 1957, including Iron ore.
