NMDC’s iron ore rake movement from CG mines up 10% in Oct

NMDC has supplied a total of 303 rakes (1.17 mn t) of iron ore from its Chhattisgarh mines in the month of Oct’20, up 10% m-o-m. Its supplies to CG-based units have rebounded in the last 2 months owing to cost effectiveness over pellets. In Oct, the same was recorded at 55 rakes which on an average remained around 65-70 rakes before pandemic. Vizag Steel has increased their sourcing from NMDC. Notably, Vizag Steel resumed production from its 3rd blast furnace in Oct. Procurement by JSW Steel (Dolvi) from NMDC (C.G.) decreased consistently since Jun’20 on increasing captive production.
