In a move to reorganize its India footprint, the boards of Tata Steel Long Products, Tata Metaliks and Indian Steel and Wire Products approved the merger of Tata Metaliks and Indian Steel and Wire Products into Tata Steel Long products. The process is expected to be completed in next 6-9 months, subject to necessary regulatory approvals. Tata Metaliks has a steel capacity of 0.55 mn t, out of which 0.25 mn t is converted into DI pipes and 0.3 mn t into pig iron.
