In a confirmed deal, about 75,000 t Australian coal (5500 NAR) has been booked at $37/t, FoB Newcastle for December shipment. The freight for a panamax vessel between Newcastle to Kandla port is assessed at $15/t. The Australian thermal coal prices have been stable over the past week amid steady buying from key importers like Japan, South Korea and now even India.
