India’s total Non-coking Coal imports slightly up by 1% to 2.2 MnT during the week ended on 8 Feb, 2014.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 2.2 MnT of Non-coking Coal at the end of week 6, which has increased from 2.1 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported Coal, around 73% was Non-coking Coal comes from different destination.
India has imported around 2 MnT Non-coking Coal from Indonesia in the period of week 6 and registered a jump of 2.5% against the prior week.
Most of the Non-coking Coal is imported from Indonesia, Australia & Mozambique .Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.05 MnT of Non-coking Coal from Australia which belongs to Adani Power, about 0.07MnT of Non-coking Coal arrived from Mozambique which has imported by Visa Resources.
Considering 33 major and minor Indian ports, Mundra has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.64 MnT of Coal. Contribution of quantity was given by Coastal Gujarat Power & Adani Power. Ennore is the second highest quantity port imported around 0.32 MnT of Non-coking Coal belongs to TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board).
SteelMint assessed that Coastal Gujarat Power & TNEB are the major importers of Non-coking Coal at the week ended on 8 Feb, 2014. Coastal Gujarat Power has imported about 0.48 MnT of Non-coking Coal from Indonesia. TNEB has imported around 0.36 MnT of Indonesian Non-coking Coal at Ennore & Tuticorin port.
