India’s total Coking Coal imports increased by 35.8% to 0.69 MnT during the week ended on 8 Feb, 2014.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 0.69 MnT of Coking Coal at the end of week 6, which has increased from 0.51 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported Coal, around 23% was Coking Coal comes from different destination.
Australia was the major supplier of Coking Coal last week. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.42 MnT of Coking Coal from Australia and about 0.26 MnT of Coking coal imported from other countries.
Considering 33 major and minor Indian ports, Gangavaram has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.23 MnT of Coal in Week 6. Contribution of quantity was given by RINL (Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited) & ACC (Associated Cement Companies). Mormugao, the second highest quantity port imported 0.19 MnT of Coking Coal belongs to JSW Steels.
SteelMint assessed that JSW Steels and RINL are the major importers of Coking Coal and imported around 0.19 MnT& 0.15 MnT respectively .SAIL has imported around 0.14 MnT at Vizag, Haldia & Paradip port.
The ports considered are: Dahej, Mormugao, Navlakhi, Mundra, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Hazira, Kandla, Bedi, Porbander, Dahanu, Dharmatar PnP, Dharamtar Ispat, Tuticorin, Jaigarh, Dighi, Revdanda, Magdalla, Pipavav GPPL, UTCL- Pipavav, Sanghi, Sikka, Okha, Muldwarka, Dhamra, Ennore, Gangavaram, Haldia, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Paradip, Vizag and Karaikal.
