Domestic melting scrap prices in most of the major consuming markets moved up by INR 100-300/t d-o-d basis, owing to the uptrend in prices of other substitute products (sponge iron) along with price hike by the manufacturers in finished steel. Current trade price for HMS (80:20) is assessed at INR 24,500/t Jalna, INR 23,300/t Chennai (DAP).
