India: SAIL’s Global Tender for Import of Manganese Ore

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the largest Indian producer invites global tender from overseas manufacturers/suppliers for supply of High grade Manganese ore for its Ferro Alloys plant at Chandrapur.

SAIL/BSP floats this tender for its Ferro Alloy plant at Chandrapur through online Reverse Auction (RA).

General Conditions

• Only Overseas producers can participate or Indian importer (including Central PSU or trading house) can participate with required document (Letter of Authority).
• If Indian agent submits bid on behalf of foreign principle and  the offer is directly submitted by the foreign principal against this tender, then offer submitted by foreign principle shall be considered.
•  Bidder would quote for the full tender quantity of 20,000 MT ± 10%
• Supplier would include authorized agent/ Importer/Export-Import Trade houses including such Indian CPSU.
• The price bid shall be quoted on C&F (FO) single port basis and price per Dry Metric Ton (DMT) basis in USD per 1% of Manganese content.

Quantity: 20,000 MT +/-10%

Terms of Delivery: Delivered to eastern Indian port viz. Gangavaram or Vizag.

Tentative delivery period would be within 30 days of concluding the agreement. SAIL reserves the right to regulate/extend delivery as per its plant’s requirement.

• Bid submission due date: 13.00 hrs IST on 13 Mar, 2014
• Techno commercial bid opening date: 10.30 hrs IST on 14 Mar, 2014

 SAIL’s sole Ferro Alloys plant at Chandrapur (Maharashtra) consumes about 0.26 MnT pa of Manganese ore in  manufacturing of Ferro Alloys like Silico Manganese (SiMn),High Carbon Ferro Manganese (HCFeMn), Ferro Manganese(MCFeMn) etc for captive use in integrated steel plants.
