Wires offer dropped by INR 500/MT W-o-W in Durgapur, while it remains same in Raipur. Stagnant buying indicates no major fluctuation in market.
In Durgapur, Wire Rod offers have reduced by INR 200/MT in a day and by INR 500/MT in a week’s time.
“From 15Jan to 10 Feb, 2014, prices had been raised in the range of INR 200-400/MT continuously owing to expensive raw material and shortage of Wire Rod in Durgapur”, said a wires trader based at Durgapur.
Today, offers dropped by INR 200/MT. Demand has reduced from nearby state (Delhi) owing to high offers which made Durgapur manufacturers to cut their prices. Now, market looks to be more or less same for this month”, he added further.
Whereas, Raipur Wire Rod prices are stable and MS Billet price increased by INR 50/MT from one week.
According to a Wire manufacturer based at Raipur, “Presently, demand is normal in local and it’s improving from nearby states. However, across India steel market scenario is dull. So, we don’t observe any major changes.”
