Odisha – India’s largest iron ore producing state recorded production of 7.82 mn t in Sep’20, up 29%, as against 6.05 mn t in Aug’20, according to the provisional data of the Odisha Govt. maintained by SteelMint. The figures include the type of material – fines, lump, and concentrate.
- Sarda mines increased production by almost two folds on monthly basis to 1.36 mn t in Sep’20 as compared to 0.72 mn t in Aug’20.
Dispatches of Sarda Mines (SMPL) have been stopped by the Odisha government last week even as the iron ore miner pursues its clearances with the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Climate Change (MoEFCC). - JSW Steel recorded iron ore production of 1.24 mn t, up 41% on a monthly basis.
- Tata Steel’s output dropped 13% for the month to 1.22 mn t in Sep’20 as against 1.4 mn t in Aug’20.
- SAIL’s iron ore production picked up by 18% in Sep’20 to 1.07 mn t.
- OMC output was recorded at 0.62 mn t, a significant rise as compared to 0.09 mn t in Aug’20. This is due to resumption in production from its Gandhamardhan B block and commencement of operations at Tiring Pahar.
