Indian crude steel production totaled 43.6 mn t during Apr-Sep’20, a fall of approximately 21% y-o-y, as per the data maintained with SteelMint. Reduced capacity utilizations during Mar-Apr’20 owing to pandemic resulted in lower crude steel output. Tata Steel remained the top steel producer at 7.58 mn t followed by JSW at 6.8 mn t and SAIL at 6.5 mn t.
