Foundry grade Pig iron market is experiencing a dull time, with stable demand and no change in price across India.
Prices at Durgapur are hovering at around INR 26,300-26,500/MT. Tata Metalliks kept offer at same level of INR 28,000/MT (basic).
A trader at Durgapur told, “Market for Foundry grade is not very good. Demand is there in the market but manufacturers are not willing to purchase at high price.”
Raipur also kept its offer at same level of INR 27,800/MT (basic); manufacturers sharing that demand is stable.
Pig iron prices in Chennai also remain unchanged at around INR 28,500-29,000/MT (basic).
Manufacture at Chennai shared, “Market picked up in the month of January as finished manufacturers wanted to complete their pending orders, but again market has slow down.”
Manufacturers at Goa & Koppal also kept offers unchanged at INR 27,500/MT & INR 28,125/MT (basic) respectively.
“Market particularly for Foundry grade is very dull. Overall, Pig iron demand is low here with current offers at INR 28,000/MT (basic)”, said a Hyderabad based manufacturer.
Ludhiana traders currently offers Foundry grade at INR 32,300-32,400/MT (VAT extra)
